What is carbon removal?
Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) is the process of removing CO2 already in the atmosphere and storing it for centuries or longer. International climate experts agree that CDR is needed in addition to deep emissions reductions across the economy.
For Canada to achieve net-zero and meet global temperature targets, we need carbon removal solutions. Here’s how we’re contributing.
Reducing emissions and conventional carbon removal methods, such as planting trees, are important – but don’t go far enough. We’re catalyzing carbon removal scale-up in Canada by advocating for policies that position Canada for global leadership and help meet international climate targets.
